Six Months

Mommy & Will
Baby boy.. how are you six months old? Half a year?! I really need to get on planning your birthday party. You amaze me daily with how much you are growing and changing. I'm so excited to see each new milestone you accomplish! Let's check up on you and see where you are.

Weighing in
Flirting with the Nurse
At the doctors this month, Will weighed in at 14lbs 11oz! He's finally on the charts for his actual age of six months. He is hitting the 5th percentile for height and weight. His adjusted age he is hitting the 75th percentile! That's pretty exciting news in the world of preemies if I do say so myself. He was measured for height at 25 1/4 inches long. He's almost allowed in his walker! We put him in sometimes to check where his feet are and he's so close!

Health
Poor Feverish Baby
Will did ok with his vaccinations this time. We actually ended up being feverish for two days for the first time. He got five shots and one vaccination by mouth. Besides this little fever side effect Will is a very healthy baby. He is doing great and has barely even had a cold. His flat spot is almost gone in my opinion and I'm very happy with how his PT is going! We're working on sitting up unassisted and he's doing wonderful with it already!

Sleep

One of my favorite pictures of my blondie
Will's sleeping has been awful lately and my mom and MIL have attributed it to teething. I am skeptical honestly as to if he is teething or not but his schedule has drastically changed and the drolling is excessive and the hands in the mouth and the screams of pain.. yeah, ok, maybe it is his teeth. Every night before bed we give him his teething tablets and orajel and put him to bed around 10pm. Is this late? Perhaps but we're night owls in this family. If he goes to bed earlier we let him. Whenever he is ready. Some nights he goes to bed by 8:30 and others 9:30. Whenever he's good to go we let him. He'll sleep roughly five hours, sometimes less, never more. He'll go back to sleep after about 3oz and it's out for another three to four hours. Then we're up for the day.

Routine

Found those toes!
7:00 am: Wake up, 6oz Neosure, vitamin D

8:00 am: Get dressed for the day, tummy time, play time
9:00 am: Nap number one, sometimes for a few minutes, sometimes for an hour
10:00 am: 6oz Neosure, play time, tummy time
12:00 pm: Lunch of fruit

1:00 pm: Nap number two, usually for a good amount of time and Mommy gets some things done!
3:00 pm: 4oz Neosure, up and moving, play time, tummy time

5:00 pm: Dinner of a veggie and 4oz Neosure
6:30 pm: Cat nap and dinner for mommy

7:00 pm: baby cereal then bath time!
9:00 pm: 4oz Neosure and eventually bed

Clothes

Will has been in 3 to 6 months clothes for a while now. I realized he was six months old and though oh I should probably get out the 6 to 9 months stuff! We don't have much of that and I think mommy needs to go to baby gap very soon..

Diapers

We are comfortably fitting into size twos and will be for at least another month or so!

Diet

Will gobbles up his fruits, veggies and cereal daily without fuss. We've now had sweet potatoes, green beans and squash in the veggie department. In the fruit department we've mastered bananas, and pears. We're going to move onto apple soon. Will is going to continue on the Neosure till at least six month adjusted age so we'll be on it till his next appointment at 9 months.

Mother's Day

This was my first legit mother's day! For the last three years we've celebrated me being a step mom to Brayden the week before mother's day. We always went to dinner and he gave me flowers and a card. It was really sweet every year and I love that little man. But this year was different. This year it was for real. We didn't need to celebrate a week early. We got to celebrate the day of.

Dave took me to a great dinner the night before and I was so excited to go out without the baby and eat some real food and take our time instead of rushing. So it was very nice. That night Will woke up at 3am and 4am and at that point he stayed in bed with us. I got up at 7 and made coffee, did some dishes and just watched the news. Then I got to take a shower, a real shower! A shower that I didn't have to take in five minutes. I got to blow dry my hair. I got to straighten my hair. I put on real makeup and lotion all over my body! It was rather exciting. Plus I got to paint my toes! I might go get my nails done this week so I didn't paint them but still not sure about that.

Here's a question to you mommas out there.. I always used to have fake nails. ALWAYS. Years at a time. I took them off before Will was born because I didn't want the germs under them even though I always keep them super short. I might get them back on now that he's six months old. Didn't know if anyone else had them before kids and got them back on after kids!

After we were ready we went to my mom's side of the family for lunch. Got to see everyone there. Then we went to my dad's side. They took my grandma out for dinner and then we head back out to the south hills and went to see Dave's mom. Hung out there then came home and put Will to bed. Then Dave gave me a massage and it was beyond amazing. Then we went to bed! It was a great first mother's day and I cannot wait to celebrate Father's Day!!! I already have half of Dave's gift and can't wait to celebrate Dave being an amazing father to our boys.

Happy mother's day to all of you amazing momma's! I love following your blogs and I'm very happy to know you all through social media especially your gorgeous babies!

It's Real!

Will has not been napping during the day for the life of me. He's teething and has been a mess for the last two weeks. Needless to say, I haven't had one second then to write about anything fun or exciting. However it's rare that he is napping right now. So I will type what I can!

Last time I wrote about how non traditional our wedding would actually be. Turns out it's getting even better! We just booked our caterer... Mr. Pigs Barbeque! We're going to have a pig roast for our wedding. Grilled veggies, corn on the cob, all the works! I am beyond excited and it's now starting to feel real because we have things booked.

We are also meeting with our bartender, Stevie P, in a week or so to book him. He's a flair bartender, you know, like Tom Cruise in Cocktail. For real. That will be awesome because he'll do a few signature drinks for us. Hopefully moonshine is on our list. :)

I also have all of my bridesmaids now! My best friend from college and sorority sister Jenny is my maid of honor. My little sister Melanie, my to be sister in law Jill, and my three best friends in the whole world  from high school Kimi, Kelly and Beth. I'm very excited and can't wait to have them help me with all of my little crafts!

I hope I can eventually put up some pictures showing you everything and how awesome it all is.. maybe after this little bugger gets some decent rest and daddy gets his butt home.

My country wedding is becoming real and that's exciting and scary all rolled into one.

Traditions

Dave and I are the least traditional people on this planet. First off, we moved in together before we were married. We bought a home together before we were married. Hell, we had a baby before we were married! Not to mention my step son as well. So when it comes to actually getting married, we are staying far from traditions.

I said it before and I'll say it again, I never even wanted to get married before I met Dave. Now that we are actually doing it, and thinking about all these things that we need to make decisions on my mind is made up on several things. We are both Catholic and our baby is baptized Catholic. My family is fairly religious I'd say especially my grandparents. Dave and I go to church bi-weekly, because of Brayden mostly and having him EOW. We want to spend the max amount of time with him so we don't go to church the weekends he's with us. Anyway, we never wanted to get married in a church. At first we just wanted to get married outside. Now with the amazing work of pinterest, and moving to the country, we want to get married on a farm, with a barn reception. Far from a church wedding!

We aren't having a traditional ceremony either. We want in and out. Twenty minutes tops. We are also not having a priest or minister marrying us. I want my blogger friend JQ to come in and marry us! She's awesome and we're going to have some great memories of a beautiful ceremony for sure. A barn reception with easy food and a cake that my aunt will bake for us will follow. After that a late night bon fire so we can have smores and hang out at the barn. Things like this don't seem the traditional or main stream but it's completely and totally us.

and in the end, that's what matters the most isn't it?
